Saturday:

Rebecca couldn’t get any info from the medical staff this morning. In fact, we’ve just gotten the first word of the day about Trevor’s well being, and it isn’t a good word. Last night wasn’t a good night as far as overcoming the infection goes. There’s some question (“dispute”) about how serious the infection is: either “pretty darned serious” or “oh my gosh! serious,” and we don’t like either situation.

The infection refuses to stop spreading. Heretofore, they thought it had stopped spreading in depth and they hoped that the antibiotics had slowed the spreading in breadth. This morning, it appears that it is still spreading in breadth, and they’re no longer certain that they’ve stopped the spreading in depth. Both are serious, though the depth issue is the more serious: where the infection spreads, it leaves dead tissue behind.

It appears that he’ll be in surgery again this afternoon, to remove dead and dying tissue in and around the infection.

Please pray for the infection to stop spreading, and to respond to the treatments. Pray also for wisdom for doctors and family.

On the good news front, Judy is in town; she just arrived this morning, though her luggage has not caught up with her yet (sigh!). The airline had mercy on her, however, and gave her an aisle seat: in first class!! And Rebecca has found – along with the hospital’s intervention – a place for them to stay near the hospital, at least for one night, and possibly for several nights.

Judy assures me that the insurance company (the BC government) is actually paying a goodly amount of their expenses, and she is just not going to worry about the costs until later. My advice: as you’re praying for them, listen to God more than to Judy or to me, and do what He says!
